How an investigation works

Every investigation starts with understanding exactly what's being reported — the type of complaint, and which policy or procedure it falls under. From there, we identify what evidence and interviews are needed, starting with the Complainant, then witnesses and the Respondent.

Once interviews are complete, findings are compiled into a detailed report. For cases under the Title IX Regulations, both parties get to review the draft, submit evidence, and offer comments before the report is finalized. Throughout the process, you'll hear directly from us — not through a portal, not through a case manager, through the investigator actually working your case.
